Chris joined Superior Eye Health Center as the Vision Therapy Director in 2009. She has a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Western Michigan University with a graduate specialty in gerontology. Previously she worked at Marquette General Health System for almost 20 years, the last 15 being the Director of Occupational Therapy. She continues to hold her license as an Occupational Therapist with skills in the evaluation and treatment of psychiatric & behavioral, memory, and neurological disorders (including stroke & head injury).
The International Examination and Certification Board (IECB) of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) announced the induction of Chris as a Certified Optometric Vision Therapist in Orlando, Florida, October of 2013. After meeting the employment hour criteria in an active VT clinic, receiving Optometric Education Programs on Vision Related Learning Disorders, Strabismus & Amblyopia, and Oculomotor Dysfunctions. Chris recently became a Certified Primitive Reflex & Neuroplasticity Clinical Specialist through PESI Rehab training.
Chris grew up in Houghton, MI. She presently lives in Marquette with her husband, John and a cat. Chris enjoys 4-wheeling, camping, weight lifting, and attending Moto-X, and spending time with her 2 grandchildren. She is in the process of running a marathon in each of the 50 states. She also enjoys scrap-booking, K-Pop music, and animal, wildlife & ocean conservancy.
